We are big believers in ongoing education, so when we got a call from Matthew at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, we were ready to do our homework. He needed to move a Mailander Proofing Press from Los Angeles to Portland, Oregon. The Mailander is a German-made lithographic offset proof press highly prized by fine art printers.

We picked up the press, and since he didn’t want it delivered until Spring Break, we stored it at our facility until school was out. The machine is on its way, and we hope students will soon be learning their craft on this superior press. We’re still waiting for our grade, but all indications are that we passed with flying colors!

Cutting Up In Bozeman

The Polar Paper Cutter is one of the most reliable and hard-working machines in the printing business, so our friend Mike couldn’t wait to get ahold of this old trooper for his shop in Bozeman, Montana.

We had to remove the bed to get it out of the door at its old home with Barry in West Los Angeles, then we carefully loaded it and sent it off to Big Sky Country.

Off To Tennessee

Our friend Michael decided it was time to leave Los Angeles behind, so he called on us to load up his Birmingham Lathe and Bridgeport Mill. We went to his location in Cerritos, loaded his machines quickly and safely, and he set off for “The Volunteer State.”

How do you know when to relocate your business?
Here’s some advice from your top local business relocation company:

There are several reasons people move their business location, and you can make the decision based on many factors, but in order to make the most economically-sound decision, you must consider whether any of these reasons are included in your determining factors:

Traffic: Are you getting enough walk-in business? Are people hesitant to visit your business because of other factors? Is parking an issue, are you too far from town?
Visibility:If you are an industrial location and are not open to the public, this may not be such a huge factor in your decision to move. However, you want to be easily accessible regardless of whether you’re a warehouse or retail store. Is your business highly visible? People should know where you exist, and it doesn’t hurt to be conveniently located where they’ll drive by you everyday on the way home.
Space:
Expansion, Location, Space
Lots of businesses are subleasing space. However, if this is not an option, are you paying for a lot that is too big?
Do some research. Are you paying for a perfect location at a rate much cheaper than your neighbors, or are you overpaying for a lot that is mostly empty and you have no use for? Always consider expansion, but don’t waste your pennies where they won’t return.
Price: Again, is the space worth the price? Can you sublease? Consider all possible options.
